Tutoring

The Research College of Nursing Learning Resource Center was developed to provide nursing students the opportunity to utilize learning strategies, practice psychomotor skills and meet individual educational goals in their academic pursuit. A variety of equipment is available ranging from computers to audiovisual machines, models for simulations and supplies.  Hours the LRC is open for use varies and is posted. Almost every undergraduate nursing student, at sometime or another needs some extra help to get through a course.  Research College of Nursing has a varied tutoring program including informal help session in group settings, students who tutor specific subjects or who can help an individual student with several different courses.  Contact the Director of the Learning Resource Center (816 276-4740) for help with nursing courses.

As a joint nursing program with Rockhurst you may also access the Rockhurst Gervais Learning Center for help with other courses. You may register for tutoring, Supplemental Instruction (SI), writing assistance, and study strategies instruction, or apply to be a tutor yourself. All of these academic services are free to Rockhurst University/Research College of Nursing students. In addition to a computer lab outfitted with a variety of software programs as well as Internet and e-mail access, the Learning Center maintains its own library of reference materials. The Learning Center also offers materials for students preparing to take graduate and professional school examinations.
