Nursing education in a culture of safety

The delivery of healthcare services is highly complex. Educating nursing students on patient safety has always been a priority for Research College of Nursing along with our clinical partners.
Understanding that anyone who delivers clinical care can make a medication error, the College dedicates an immense amount of time on medication administration safety. Open reporting of errors and/or system flaws is encouraged as we focus on the systems and processes that allowed the event to occur, rather than on the individual(s) involved.
We will continue to foster a culture of safety that protects discussion about errors and system failures. As part of the HCA Healthcare family, RCoN is committed to advancing patient safety and best outcomes for all of our students and patients.
Nursing has remained the most trusted profession in the U.S. for two decades. Additionally, HCA Healthcare has been named a World’s Most Ethical Company for the 12th time by Ethisphere, a global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices. RCoN is honored to be a contributing pillar in the nursing profession. We are proud of the work we do in educating nurses, developing leaders and caring for communities.
To our nursing students pursuing the profession, and alumni serving the community, remember RCoN is here to support you. It is our vision to be the college of choice for nurses who desire to lead in practice, service and advocacy.
