The Student Center for Success provides academic and co-curricular resources and programming to promote success in and out of the classroom. Our mission is to assist underprepared, prepared, and high-achieving students in developing the skills necessary to achieve their academic goals through the development of critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and self-reflection.

Located inside the Student Center for Success, the Goods Bank provides free non-perishable food items, hygiene products, school supplies and household goods to students in need. Inventory is sustained by donations from faculty, staff and students. The RCoN Goods Bank empowers student shoppers to choose the items they need most and helps students in need to live, learn and thrive.
All RCoN students have access to WellConnect, a free and confidential service designed to help you succeed with access to:
- 24/7 telephonic support from licensed mental health professionals
- Professional help to address emotional stressors, test anxiety, relationship issues, and more
- Legal and financial consultations
- Referrals for things like housing, utilities, childcare, and other local resources
- A website full of articles, assessments, webinars, financial calculators, skill builders, and more
Enrolled students can access this service through the Student Services Canvas course.
The Research Medical Center Safety and Security Department offers protection and assistance to students. Some of the services offered include assistance with low tires, jump starts, escorts for students, and security patrols. (816) 276-4411
Research Medical Center offers a program managed by Bright Horizons on a space-available basis for RCoN student’s children aged six weeks through pre-K. A summer school-age program is also offered. (816) 276-4888
The cafeteria inside Research Medical Center is open to students and features healthy, flavorful cuisines using fresh high-quality ingredients. Students who show their badge receive an employee discount. The 24/7 Research Canteen offers convenient access to a variety of options, including healthy snacks, drinks and fresh food to keep you fueled throughout your day.

Get involved
We provide future healthcare leaders with opportunities to become more active participants in our communities and provide service to the greater society. RCoN student organizations help you develop leadership skills, explore professional development and care for underserved populations throughout the Kansas City metro.
Nurses of Faith is an organization that meets in a small group setting to discuss intersections of faith and nursing. This group is open to all people interested in discussing topics, no matter their faith background. All are welcome. This organization is led by a faculty advisor. Learn more about Nurses of Faith.
The Research Student Nurses’ Association is a constituent of the Missouri Nursing Students’ Association (MoNSA) and the National Student Nurses’ Association (NSNA). Learn more about RSNA.

Although on-campus housing is not available, there are many apartments and rental properties located near Research College of Nursing.
