NCLEX-RN Pass Rate (TBSN Class of 2022)
Is it your vision help build healthier tomorrows for your community? Nursing can provide a stable, well-paid career with endless opportunities for advancement. Let’s do this together.
Research College of Nursing (RCoN) students are compassionate, critical thinkers and courageous leaders looking to make a difference. Here you will find tools to be successful today and in the future. Below you will learn what it takes to gain early admission as a high school senior or college freshman.
Through a program we like to call “EA(RN) it” we help students on their journey from an Early Admit to a Bachelor’s prepared registered nurse (RN).
Typically nursing school candidates are considered for admission when entering their sophomore year of college. Early Admits are eligible to secure their spot in RCoN’s traditional BSN (TBSN) track as a high school senior or college freshman.
If you have already started taking pre-requisite courses please see our TBSN page for more information on program eligibility.
Early admission requires a minimum 3.0 high school GPA with a minimum 22 ACT or 3.2 high school GPA with minimum 21 ACT. Early admission students must achieve an ATI TEAS® minimum score of Proficient Academic Preparedness Level. It is recommended this test be taken after completing a minimum of 30 college credits.
Do you meet ACT and GPA requirements?
While there are several education pathways to becoming a nurse, you do not need to have your CNA, LPN or ADN to begin earning a BSN from RCoN. We offer a BSN which opens the door to higher earning potential and career advancement for an aspiring registered nurse (RN).
You have the flexibility to complete the first 60 credit hours of pre-requisites at any regionally accredited college or university of your choice. Most students complete pre-requisites in two years, often at a community college, then transfer to RCoN for their final two years of nursing curriculum. Our graduates are prepared to sit for NCLEX-RN licensure and become top candidates for some of the most competitive nursing roles.
We’re here to help you along the way! Our admissions team is happy to answer any questions about transfer credits before you enroll in pre-requisite courses.
As an RCoN student you will gain exceptional nursing faculty who serve as life-long mentors and coaches. RCoN’s commitment to each nursing student on their journey to becoming a confident clinician is demonstrated through our many free academic support services.
Additionally, we proudly offer the region’s largest Dedicated Education Unit program that pairs you one-on-one with a staff nurse for a more in-depth learning experience than a traditional nursing school clinical.

Why RCoN: I choose RCoN for their NCLEX pass rate! In the fall I met with the admissions director before I applied. She told me about the class we take as seniors that will help prepare us for NCLEX. Leslie also helped me create a whole plan for completing my pre-requisites at MCC.
I also liked the small class sizes because I grew up in such a small town. I took a tour of the college with Student Ambassadors and I think it’s unique that RCoN is in the basement of the hospital. I found that fun.
My biggest goal is to go through school without debt and I’m on track for that thanks to the scholarships available at RCoN and The Research Foundation.
The support that RCoN offers is amazing. The tutoring is completely free. RSNA focuses on fun things outside of school. You don’t have to try finding those fun things outside of school on your own, they’re all provided to you.
Everyone wants you to succeed. Professors are so helpful.
Advice for future nursing students: RCoN hosts a lot of things - take advantage! I went to Summit Tech for Allied Health and got a bunch of exposure to health-related occupations. I wish I would have done nursing specific.
If it’s an interest get on the Early Admit newsletter where you learn about these opportunities like to tour our college or do the Explore RCoN summer program.
As an Ambassador we do campus tours and go visit area high schools. Explore all your options. If you are considering nursing apply for the Early Admit BSN. You don’t have to go just because you apply, but you have a spot if you want to.
